Abstract

The community assistance program in Sangen Candirejo hamlet for the care of the deceased is an important initiative that aligns with the needs of the Sangen Candirejo community. The goal of this assistance is to enhance knowledge and skills in handling the deceased according to Islamic teachings, especially for the women of Sangen hamlet. The funeral care program is implemented through several stages, including social analysis, program development, coordination, implementation, and funding. Strong collaboration between facilitators and partners is key to the success of this program. Evaluations show a significant improvement both qualitatively and quantitatively, supported by the active participation of partners and positive feedback from participants. This assistance makes a significant contribution to the community’s understanding and skills, in line with the principles of social cognition theory, which emphasizes the importance of learning through observation and participation in a social context. The success of this funeral care program not only lies in the increase in knowledge and practical skills but also in the deeper understanding and awareness of values and procedures according to Islamic teachings. This assistance program has strong potential to raise awareness of the importance of funeral care knowledge among the local community.
