http://ejurnal.stiqisykarima.ac.id/index.php/AlKarima/article/view/311

Justice is a supreme human value that most people agree is essential for the establishment and stability of societies and civilizations. The story of Dhul-Qarnayn, as mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah Al-Kahf, serves as a vivid example of justice in managing society across social, political, and military dimensions through the actions of a faithful servant whom God empowered on earth. The story embodies various aspects of justice, from dealing with culturally and linguistically diverse nations to balancing material power with moral values. From an Islamic perspective, the story highlights the concept of a just leader who uses strength to support the oppressed and ensure security for communities through fair reward and punishment. Philosophically, the story offers insight into the relationship between ruler and ruled, and the interplay between good and evil as elements of justice. This research analyzes the concept of justice in the story of Dhul-Qarnayn from both Islamic and philosophical perspectives, focusing on points of comparison between them. It adopts an analytical approach to examine and interpret the text in light of divine justice, alongside a comparative method to explore similarities and differences between Islamic and philosophical views as presented in the Quranic narrative. The research concludes that Dhul-Qarnayn represents a unique model of divine justice. His actions reflect divine guidance, making the story a significant reference for justice in governance. Both perspectives share key principles, though they differ in their foundational frameworks.
Majyd KasheemAbdulnasir AlsaydYousuf AboujanahNaima Salem Alzletni

http://ejurnal.stiqisykarima.ac.id/index.php/AlKarima/article/view/313

The discourse of the pulpits has great importance in consolidating human values, especially after the diversity and multiplicity of its old means represented in mosques, and the new ones through modern technologies and social networks, especially in this era when human values have become secondary. In current study it has been presented that the problems of discourse in the curriculum, language, and content, as well as in the means. Some solutions have been developed through which some of its problems can be overcome. Thus, it can be employed in the consolidation of human values to the fullest. I have concluded that human values are an ethical system, an integrated, necessary, improving one that works to create an optimal life for humanity in a world of chaos, the moral rift, and the lack of influential preachers. The preachers who are good or proficient in rhetoric, and by codifying the crystallization of our rhetorical approach, which requires us to review our strategic plans in preparing the sermon, because the weakness of the pulpits is the weakness of the call. It is empty on its thrones, so the preacher must pay attention to the phenomena, and the problems that the listeners are looking for solutions to monitor them, solve them legally, and explain their advantages and disadvantages.
Aisyah Hasan

http://ejurnal.stiqisykarima.ac.id/index.php/AlKarima/article/view/312

In the modern era, an excessive tendency to pursue worldly pleasures has led to an imbalance between material and spiritual aspects. Surah Al-Kahfi contains values of Zuhud that offer a solution to addressing a materialistic lifestyle. This study aims to analyze the meaning of Zuhud and its application in Surah Al-Kahfi according to Mutawalli As-Sya'rawi. A qualitative method with a library research approach is employed, focusing on Sha'rawi's exegesis and other relevant works. A thematic approach is applied to identify the context of Zuhud within Surah Al-Kahfi. The results showed that, according to Sya'rawi, Zuhud emphasizes awareness of the world's limitations and an orientation toward the hereafter. His interpretation of verses 7, 28, 46, 104, and 110 asserts that Zuhud does not entail a complete rejection of the world but rather a balance between worldly and spiritual concerns. Moreover, the application of Zuhud in Surah Al-Kahfi encompasses social life (verse 10) through distancing oneself from environments that harm faith, wealth (verse 39) through gratitude in the story of Syibhul Jannatain, knowledge (verses 60 and 82) through the humility of Prophet Musa and Khidr, and power (verse 95) through the rejection of material rewards for the sake of communal well-being.

Keywords: Zuhud, Surah Al-Kahfi, Mutawalli As-Sha'rawi.
Qonitatu Zulfatu Rohmah Averosian Sophia Al-MadanyAqdi Rofiq AsnawiMahmud Rif’anuddin

http://ejurnal.stiqisykarima.ac.id/index.php/AlKarima/article/view/269

This article examines the context and method of tafsir by A. Hasan Bandung (1887-1958) based on socio-cultural approaches and the essence of his juristic and hermeneutical views and epistemological postulate, which raises important aspects of socio-legal and ethical reform as its leading voice and proponent. This is highlighted from his interpretative work of Qur’anic exegesis such as Tafsir al-Furqan, Tafsir al-Hidayah, Tafsir Surah Yasin, al-Djawahir, as well as from his column in local magazine and journal such as Himayat al-Islam, Pembela Islam and etcetera. The research is qualitative in nature, of the type of literature/library research, and hermeneutical survey. The finding shows that A. Hasan has outlined an unprecedented method of contextual interpretation of the Qur’an that reflected his rational understanding of the text. This is manifested from his arguments that celebrated the views of classical and contemporary jurist on broad aspects of Islamic law, jurisprudence, speculative theology, philosophy, religious faith, spirituality and Shariah. His interpretation was intrinsically presented in the context of structural kalam in the form of question and answer that addresses and debates diverse communal issues. It reveals the strength of his views based on ijtihad (independent reasoning) that formulate the entire juristic opinion from broadly authoritative and argumentative construct of maslahah (the common good) dan maqasid syariah (the higher objective of Islamic law).
Ahmad Nabil AmirTasnim Abdul Rahman

http://ejurnal.stiqisykarima.ac.id/index.php/AlKarima/article/view/280

This article discusses one of the interpretive approaches that cannot be separated from the attention of the mufasir, namely thematic interpretation. This research aims to explore the meaning of jihad in the perspective of thematic interpretation, especially on the redaction of the word jihad in the Qur'an. The object of research used focuses on the redaction of words in the Qur'an that represent jihad, namely jihad and qitāl. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a text analysis study. The primary sources used are two books of tafsir that use ijtima'i context, or better known as thematic, as an approach. The two books of tafsir are al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir by Ibn 'Assyria and Tafsir al-Manar by Rasyid Ridha. Secondary sources used are some previous studies related to the research theme. The result of this study is the discovery of differences in the meaning of the editorial words jihad and qitāl in the context of jihad. The redaction of the word qitāl is only limited to the context of warfare. While the redaction of the word jihad has a broader and more complex meaning, not only limited to the context of warfare.
Muhammad Luqman Hakim Al QindiNanda AminataMuhammad RaflyAbu Bakar
